If not, he offers some clear insight through his analysis of Aum Shinrikyo, Sendero Luminoso, Hezbollah and al Qaeda about the powerful role of religion in formulation of a millenial mindset.

Ultimately, these groups seek complete social renewal through the of use spectacular violence that will bring about the complete sociopolitical salvation they desire and either a return to traditional norms in society or the creation of an idealized state.

http://newworldglobaloutlook.typepad.comPatton Anthony Staggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14841290654377241707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4245279442880338057.post-2648412327806356082009-03-08T11:34:00.000-07:002009-03-08T11:34:00.000-07:00Here's the Silhouette City link:http://www.silhoue...Here's the Silhouette City link:
http://www.silhouettecity.com/Jay Taberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11016367021003977811noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4245279442880338057.post-3547456708599043672009-03-08T11:30:00.000-07:002009-03-08T11:30:00.000-07:00This reminded me of Paul de Armond's essay A Not S...This reminded me of Paul de Armond's essay A Not So Distant Mirror http://www.publicgood.org/reports/nosodist/ about the millenarian element of the militia movement in the 1990s. I have yet to see the recent film Silhouette City, but the trailer looks interesting.

Adapting to the impending climate change regulatory regime currently under development at the UN, while enduring the economic collapse from institutionalized fraud, might produce some new manifestations of what we saw in the Midwest militias that produced the spectacle of Oklahoma City.

My concern, at present, is that this future rage will likely be projected toward the same scapegoats (i.e. Indigenous peoples, environmentalists, non-Christians). Another reason to be concerned about White House faith-based initiatives putting financial resources in the hands of organized bigotry.Jay Taberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11016367021003977811noreply@blogger.com
